11.15.06 | City of Santa Barbara Parking Violators Can Pay Citations Online
TRANSFIRST and MyOnlineBill.com offer convenience for residents and create efficiencies in resource allocation
DALLAS (November 15, 2006) — Dallas-based TRANSFIRST, LLC, a leading provider of transaction processing services and payment enabling technologies, and MyOnlineBill.com (MOB), an Electronic Bill Presentment and Payment (EBPP) company, have collaborated to provide the City of Santa Barbara with an online bill presentment and payment solution for its Online Police Violation Payment site.
The TRANSFIRST and MOB payment solution offers residents and visitors a convenient method of payment 24/7 via credit card without the hassle of long lines and visits to police headquarters or City Hall. The solution was designed to integrate with the City of Santa Barbara's proprietary citation software system, which processed more than 96,000 parking citations issued last fiscal year. It also reduces the City's technology overhead and creates efficiencies in municipal processes, allowing it to focus on additional customer service priorities.
"Our City Council has been a big proponent of offering online services to the residents of Santa Barbara, as these services add convenience and help reduce traffic and congestion throughout the city," said Lynne Sparks, Finance Analyst for the City of Santa Barbara. "The TRANSFIRST and MyOnlineBill.com solution is very easy for the customer to use, and processes transactions efficiently. We've been pleased by the positive feedback, the increased usage since it was implemented and the reduction in the City's administrative resource requirements. As a result, we are looking for additional departments within the City whose customers can benefit from electronic payments utilizing these products."
"Today's municipalities are challenged with implementing payment technology solutions while working within constrained budgets and legacy administrative systems," said Walt Patterson, Senior Vice President of the TRANSFIRST Government Services Division. "The TRANSFIRST and MOB solution offers a cost-effective, easy-to-implement online bill presentment and payment solution that helps municipalities like the City of Santa Barbara increase efficiencies, capture additional revenue and offers added convenience to its residents and visitors."
"Working with TRANSFIRST, we were able to develop a customized solution that meets the needs of the City of Santa Barbara within its allocated budget," said Adam Franks, President of MyOnlineBill.com. "It's a good lifestyle solution for the City's residents and visitors who, like their peers across the country, spend more and more time paying bills online as a matter of convenience. We commend the City of Santa Barbara for being proactive and innovative on behalf of these citizens."
